About Me

Nick has built his career leading sustainable technology development and commercialization. This led him from farming to commercial food development to renewable energy to Impossible Foods and to most recently climate technology.

Currently, Nick is working on new climate ideas with the mission to rapidly decrease atmospheric concentrations of methane and carbon dioxide to change the trajectory of climate change. In addition, Nick is an independent Board Director at Innerplant where they are transforming farming by enabling crops to communicate with growers.

Nick joined Impossible Foods as its first employee and helped build the company from the ground up during his 11 years there. He held numerous senior executive roles at Impossible Foods including Chief Strategy Officer, SVP Retail, and SVP International. Nick also sat on the Board of Kite Hill who make yogurt and cheese from almonds.

Prior to this, Nick was an expert in food commercialization at General Mills, where he developed and launched several new product lines and designed large-scale food manufacturing systems. He has experience in agriculture, having grown up on a family dairy farm, and commercializing new technologies such as solar, energy storage and biofuels.

Nick holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Minnesota, an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business, and an M.S. in Environment and Resources from the Stanford School of Earth Sciences.
